It’s funny, you hear the words “Statement Piece” banded around all the time these days. But what is a statement piece? Is it that huge spotlight from Ikea ? Sure it’s big, possibly even impressive and it does make a statement. The problem is that the statement it makes is that owning it makes you the same as everybody else. So why not change that and own something totally unique, a real one off, a talking point and a true statement piece.
 
Now a little about this lamp
 
This lamp is the product of over two weeks of work and over 70 years of history !
The lamp has a number of fantastic vintage features a vintage pressure gauge and oil feeder. The gauge is a 1950’s Steam gauge that came from a vintage steam press. The oil feeder was from a vintage stationary engine.  This lamp also features two steam taps and a vintage brass flow valve.
 
The remainder of the lamp is made from both new and reclaimed ¾ and ½ BSP industrial pipe and fittings. These give the lamp it’s unique industrial look and feel. Major joints are welded at the rear for durability.

For the electrification we used 2 antique style Bakelite E27 fitments bulb holders. The lamp has 2 Edison filament bulbs which give a fantastic warm glow. We have wired the lamp with 1.5m of period correct vintage cable.
