This is a big heavy lamp (dimensions are at the bottom of this listing).

This incredible desk / table lamp is not only a fully functional lamp but also a stunning unique piece of unique art.

This amazing lamp was created by British metalworking artist Chris Walton

The inspiration for this lamp started with a French made S.A.M Acetylene car lamp. This lamp would have been made around 1905 in Paris.

It was the perfect shape for Why-Robot's  head. His main body is a 1960's  vintage solid brass compressor water trap made by AID Ltd Shenstone, Staffs England. His hands are 1950's Niphan military marine industral power connectors by  and his boots are Capacitors  .reclaimed from 1950's Simplex industrial factory lamp.  Finally his base comes from a vintage chain hoist.  He is a true example of reusing vintage and antique parts to make a new product.

The head can be adjusted which improves his mood  :-) . With his head down , it looks like he is asking " Why"    hence his name.

The lamp is wired with period correct braided cable and it has been PAT tested for electrical safety.

This lamp is finished with an Edison LED decorative light bulb. This gives a beautiful warm light with the filament clearly visible when in use. It nicely illuminates the robot when it's turned on.

When lit the light looks stunning as the vents on the lamp reflect light out of the rear of the lamp as well as the front. . The photos really don't do it any justice at all.

Don’t miss this chance to own this truly unique lamp !!
