Here's something special ! A totally unique BSA Bantam D7 Motorbike Tank Lamp. Perfect for the motorbike lover in the family !
We started with a fantastically weather worn BSA Bantam D7 Motorbike Tank. This was degreased and cleaned to remove all of the old oil and grime. It was then lightly polished and finally clear coated to maintain the finish. It still bears all of the marks and scars it has gained over its 60 + years. We made a custom steel mount so the tank could be mounted . This mount was powder coated in satin black to contrast with the colours of the tank.
A custom steel light fitting was fabricated to look like clip on handlebars form a cafe racer. To this we fitted vintage style Bakelite bulb holders . The light was then professionally wired with period correct black braided cable. The light has a generous 1.6 mtr power cable and inline switch. The lamp has been PAT tested and is fully earthed for electrical safety.
For a light as cool as this we really needed a nice base. For the base we used a piece of vintage mahogany that we salvaged from a 1920's table.. This was fine sanded and then waxed.
The light comes with a E27 Vintage Edison LED Radio Valve bulbs. When lit the light looks stunning. . The photos really don't do it any justice at all.
This is not just beautiful light but a great piece of art that is guaranteed to be a conversation piece for years to come!
